FAQ

Free Delivery (UK)

After your chosen piece is finished it will be packaged in our luxury gift boxes and sent to you using FREE 1st class (UK).  For certain items we will send by either recorded delivery or royal special mail next day delivery, the delivery is always FREE of charge to the customer.

Every order includes one free impression if required, including free 1st class post, a pre-paid returns envelope to return your impressions (UK only).  During the month of December all impression kits are sent by recorded delivery due to the busy postal season.

How long will it take for you to send me an Impression Kit?

As soon as we receive your order we aim to send out your Impression Kit within 48 hours, this may be slightly longer during busy periods. Please allow 7 working days for the delivery of your kit.

Is the kit easy to use?

Yes, the kit is very simple and only takes a few minutes of your time. It is totally mess free and non-toxic/safe for even newborn babies.  Then just pop your impressions in the pre-paid envelope and send it back to us. Hand and Foot Impressions are taken using a non messy inkless wipe, as used in maternity units while fingerprints are taken using a compound putty.

What if the impressions I take are not satisfactory?

There is enough moulding compound to take 2 fingerprint impressions (we will use the best one out of the 2). If for any reason you are unable to get an acceptable fingerprint impression, don't worry, just let us know and we will send you out a second kit free of charge. Please ensure that you are happy with your impressions before returning them to us.
Once we have received your impressions we will use the best impression supplied. If for any reason you have not taken your impressions correctly, you will need to purchase a 2nd impression kit (£5).

How long until I receive my fingerprint jewellery?

The production leadtime options are indicated on the product desecription page.  Engraved fingerprint jewellery is produced in 3 to 5 days while hand crafted jewellery takes 14 to 28 days depending on the product and the timeline details are specified on the product page in the 'Description' area.

Is there a limit to the amount of letters I can have engraved on my chosen piece?

The number of characters that can be engraved on each product depends on the size and shape. Most names can fit and if you want to be sure don't hesitate to contact us:  sales@silverheartprints.co.uk

Can I have a name or date put on the back of a charm?

Yes you can and this is free of charge. Please see the options available and number of characters in the product description.

What will my fingerprint look like ?

All fingerprints are different, unique and individual to each person. The Fingerprint Jewellery examples featured on our website show different impressions from very young babies to adults. The fingerprints of babies and young children are not as developed; therefore these impressions will show the shape and size of the finger, plus the little creases in the joint. Many people like to take the impression of the back of a babies finger, this will features all the little creases and the nail imprint. Older children's and adults fingerprints are much more defined, giving a typical fingerprint impression.

Please take time to read the supplied instructions carefully to ensure you get the best result possible. For hand and footprints please note that fine lines and detail are unlikely to be visible due to the miniaturisation process.

Is there a maximum age limit for taking impressions?

There is no upper age limit for finger, hand or footprints. Larger fingerprints may well have an impact on the number of characters which are personalised, in which case we will inform you.

I would like to buy a gift for someone who is pregnant; the baby is not born yet so what are my options?

Future Orders

Hand and footprints are kept on our files for up to 12 months which saves time if you wish to reuse the same prints for further jewellery items.

What gives handcrafted fingerprint jewellery it's unique charm?

Handcrafted fingerprint or handprint jewellery is not machine made like engraved fingerprint or handprint jewellery.  All handcrafted silver items are completely handmade and will have some slight imperfections which add to their charm and uniqueness.  The quality is very high and a lot of time and effort is made to minimise such artisanal imperfections, but the pieces will have an organic, handmade feel to them. Your piece will display its own unique characteristics that you would expect from a handcrafted product, thus making it AS INDIVIDUAL AND UNIQUE AS YOUR OWN CHILD.

If you are looking for a 'factory finish' you are best to choose our laser engraved fingerprint or handprint jewellery. Laser engraving captures more details while handcrafted impressions are deeply embossed into the silver, both styles have a beautiful, elegant finish.
